We are currently taking on new volunteers!Volunteering with CLASSS is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the community and to gain valuable experience in tutoring and working with young people.
It is a great way to meet new people whilst also giving back to the local area and making a difference to our pupils.
You will be supported throughout your time here by the team, and thanks to kind contributions from High Speed Training, we also offer all volunteers free online training courses such as safeguarding and dyslexia awareness.
We also socialise together regularly outside of classes and have volunteer meetings to keep everyone in the loop.
We’re looking for a number of different roles at the moment to support the growth of our charity. Please see details of the different opportunities below:
We’re currently looking for volunteer tutors to help with English and Maths classes. We have spaces available in all classrooms from Year 2 all the way up to Year 11. Volunteers come from different backgrounds; some are former teachers, some are training to be teachers, and some have never done any teaching before! No matter your experience level, if you are committed and can get on well with the young people, you can make a difference at CLASSS. For more information email email@example.com or apply below.
In addition to our group classes, we provide one-to-one literacy practice for the young people. Our reading volunteers take the pupils out of classes for 15 minutes at a time to read one of the books from our CLASSS library. If you want to volunteer with children but prefer one-to-one support, being a reading volunteer is for you. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or apply below.
We have one position available for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage the support of our volunteer team. This is a fantastic opportunity that is really rewarding and a great experience in Volunteer Management. If you are super organised, friendly and want a more senior voluntary role in a local charity, this could be for you. For more information email email@example.com or apply below.
Year 2 & 3: Classroom Lead
We’re looking for a classroom lead to prepare English and Maths activities for our Year 2 and 3 pupils. We’re a small charity and we rely on the kind donations of our supporters. We’re looking for fundraising assistants to help write grant applications for our charity.
