Technorth Family Learning Centre, 9 Harrogate Road, Leeds LS7 3NB
To provide high quality tutoring in fundamental English and Maths skills
To create a welcoming, inclusive environment for pupils and volunteers
To build confidence and resilience in young people
Please note we have a prioritisation policy. This means we allocate places against the following critiera, in order of priority.
1. Looked after child/Previously looked after child
2. Siblings of children already at CLASSS
3. Children living in Harehills/Chapeltown and Chapel Allerton postcodes
4. Children living in other areas (e.g. Seacroft and Gipton)
5. Other relatives such as cousin
6. Any other child
We will offer places to a child based on the above list, so a looked after child would be offered a place first, followed by a child who is a sibling of a child already attending CLASSS. This is line with school prioritisation policies and our charitable objectives to serve students within the Harehills, Chapeltown and Chapel Allerton areas.
We do only have 48 places overall within CLASSS which means there can sometimes be a long wait for a place to become available.
Please register your interest here to join the waitlist: SIGN UP TO WAITING LIST.
If you have previously registered and no longer need a place pleaase contact us: contact@classs.org.uk.
We will have some vacancies for Year 3 and 4 class, or our Key Stage Four Class (Year 10 and 11) starting in September. Trial sessions for these will be available for May- July. If you're interested please email us - contact@classs.org.uk. It is unlikely we'll have any vacancies for Year 5 or 6, or Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) for some time. It is worth expressing your interest via our waiting list as early as possible.
Our classes are held at Technorth, 9 Harrogate Road, Leeds, LS7 3NB, every Thursday evening during term time at 5.45-7.30pm. We ask that all students arrive between 5:30 and 5:40 pm to ensure a prompt start at 5:45 pm.
Tutors work one-on-one with students where possible, or in pairs or with small groups of students.
We have paid tutors for Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 who provide curriculum support for English and Maths. These tutors are supported by volunteers who provide 1-2-1 and group support. All volunteers go through an application process and DBS check, and undertake safeguarding training.
We currently provide classes for children aged 7-16, in school years 3-11. Unfortunately, at the moment due to capacity and funding constraints, we do not take children in reception, year 1 or 2 or for post-16 support.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity. The fees are required to ensure the charity is able to cover rent costs at Technorth to Leeds City Council.
You can pay your subscriptions easily at reception on the first class of term. You can pay by card or bank transfer.
Our fees are unchanged from before the pandemic. These are:
1st child in family - £24 per half term (to be paid at the first class after every holiday)
2nd child in family - £18 per half term (to be paid at the first class after every holiday)
3rd, 4th, 5th child in family - £12 per half term (to be paid at the first class after every holiday)
We also operate a Hardship Fund for those experiencing financial hardship. Please contact our Managing Coordinator to find out more.
